Hastelloy Plates are made of a nickel-based alloy that is known for its corrosion resistance and wide range of suitability. Its chemical composition consists of iron, chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese and small amounts of silicon and nitrogen. Each component has been carefully formulated to increase strength and machinability while presenting great corrosion resistance levels under various environmental conditions. The Hastelloy alloy also provides good formability and weldability, allowing it to be used in even the most challenging applications.
Hastelloy plates are a widely sought-after material due to their excellent properties and resistance to corrosion. The most common way they are used is in chemical processing equipment, construction of marine vessels, heat exchangers, and evaporators. They also have a wide array of industrial applications, such as pollution controls in power plants, wear parts for bulk handling equipment, factory tanks and piping systems, etc. Their unique combination of excellent strength and oxidation levels at elevated temperatures makes them ideal for many demanding applications. They also possess great weldability without the need for preheat or post-weld heat treatment. Hastelloy plates can easily tolerate atmospheres containing sulfuric acid, acetic acid, hydrochloric acid and phosphoric acid - making them among the toughest products in their class.
