Shipbuilding steels are basically structural steels that are developed for a specific purpose of building ships. ABS steels are a type of ship building steels. These ABS plates come in grades that offer ordinary to tow-levels of high strength properties. These ABS steel plates are developed specifically for long shelf life and optimal performance. ABS steel plates have increased strength, high resistance to cold and weldability. Shipbuilding steels are developed in many shapes for different applications.
ABS Steels are Carbon steel plates commercially available in grades like A, B, D, E, DS, and CS. These grades are added with many elements to give them different properties. Six different grades of High strength ABS steel plates are commercially available. These grades include DH32, AH32, EH32, AH36, DH36 and EH36. Cabins on cruise ships are created using shipbuilding ABS steel plates. Shipbuilding steels are capable of being formed into thin plates. The weld-ability and flatness of these steel plates make them highly usable in applications. Platform superstructures, and Oil & Gas containing ships are built using high strength ABS Steels. The high tensile steels of these steels also makes them usable for building hulls.
