The Carbon Steel AISI 1045 Channels are medium tensile steel which are supplied in black hot roll and even in the normalized condition. It is having the tensile strength of around 570-700 MPa & the Brinell hardness which ranges around 170 to 210. It is best characterized by the good machinability, good weld ability, higher strength and the impact properties in hot rolled or normalized condition. It is having the low through capability of hardening with sections of the sizes around 60mm which is recommended as the suitable one for hardening and tempering.
However, the Carbon Steel AISI 1045 Channels can also be flame efficiently or the induction hardened in hot rolled or normalized condition for having the hardness in range of the RC 54-RC 60 which is based on the factors as set up type, section sizes, the quenching medium and more. It lacks the suitable alloy elements and don’t respond to nit riding pro. Based on these recommendations which are given by manufacturers of machine, the operations as tapping, sawing, drilling, broaching etc. can also be carried out on this.
