The material is low alloyed and contains suitable for moderate pressure applications. The flanges have good fabricability and formability. They are modifiable to suit customer specifications in terms of size, design, thickness, and shape. The most common types of these flanges are forged, slip-on, raised face, RTJ, SWORF, WNRF, spectacle, reducing, blind, orifice, plate, flat, threaded, and lap joint. They are classified into 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN64, PN100, and PN160 based on pressure.
Properties of carbon steel F42 flanges
Mechanical and physical- The tensile strength of the alloy is 650MPa while the yield strength is 520MPa. The material has an elongation capacity of 20%. The melting point of the flanges is around 14000 C while the density is 7.9g/cm3.
Chemical- The elements found in the alloy are carbon, manganese, silicon, molybdenum, chromium, sulfur, phosphorus, nickel, and iron.
