The flanges are made from high corrosion resistance and strong alloy. The grade is resistant to pitting, crevice, and intergranular corrosion. The flanges can withstand chloride-bearing environments. The material is highly durable and moldable into different shapes and sizes. The alloy is hardened through heat treatment and does not respond to cold working. Like other duplex flanges, the grade should not be exposed in temperatures above 3000 C for long. There are various types like threaded, ring joint, spectacle, flat, reducing, slip-on, forged, blind, and SORF. The flanges are classified into 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN64, PN100, and PN160.
Properties of duplex stainless steel UNS S32205 flanges
Mechanical and physical- The alloy has a tensile and yield strength of 620 and 450MPa respectively. The elongation capacity is 25%.
Chemical- The elements found in these flanges include carbon, nickel, molybdenum, silicon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, nitrogen, iron, and chromium. They have high Mo and \ni content while carbon is low.
