The electrode is highly resistant to heat and corrosion. The alloy is also carbide resistant and has excellent weldability. It is usable from all positions. The filler metal is hardened through cold working. The filler wire is resistant to oxidation in sulfur-bearing environments. The electrode has excellent strength, and it easily joins with the base metals. The alloy weldability is enhanced through addition of aluminum. The element also increases corrosion and thermal oxidation of the electrode. Chromium and nickel content in the alloy are also high to boost the resistance. The filler metal can withstand high temperatures without embrittlement.
Properties of Inconel 601 electrodes
Mechanical- The alloy has a density of 8.1g/cm3. The tensile strength of the filler metal is 550MPa while the yield strength is 205MPa. The alloy has an elongation capacity of 30% in 50mm.
Chemical- The components of the Inconel 601 electrode are carbon, chromium, silicon, manganese, sulfur, nickel, aluminum, copper, and iron. It has a high nickel and chromium content for better corrosion resistance.
