LF3

The flanges are highly resistant to effects of severe temperatures. They are ideal for cryogenic temperatures. They have excellent toughness and ductility retention under such environments. The alloy is resistant to most inorganic acids like sulfuric, nitric, and phosphoric. The material is not affected by crevice, stress cracking, and pitting corrosion. The grade has low carbon content. It is nonmagnetic in both cold worked and annealed state. The most common types are swivel, socket, spectacle, orifice, blind, reducing, long weld neck, plate, flat, and lap joint flanges. They are classified into 150#, 300#, 600#, 900#, 1500#, 2500#, PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN64, and PN100.

Properties of low-temperature carbon steel LF3 flanges

Mechanical and physical- The tensile strength of the alloy is 550MPa while the yield strength is 250MPa. The material has an elongation capacity of around 25%. The melting point is 15000 C while the density is 8.2g/cm3.

Chemical- The elements found in these flanges are carbon, nickel, iron, sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, manganese, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt.
