316H

316H Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings is a high-carbon variant of 316 austenitic stainless steel. They contain up to 0.04–0.10% carbon, 2–3% molybdenum, 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 0.75–1.20% manganese with traces of other elements such as phosphorus, silicon, and sulfur in varying proportions depending on the grade involved. Additionally, they have increased higher temperature creep strength compared to standard rates of SS 316L pipe fittings, making them suitable for use in high-temperature settings like petrochemical plants or power plants where temperatures exceed 550 degrees Celcius (1000°F).

SS 316H Pipe Fittings are mainly used in high-temperature applications due to their superior corrosion and heat resistance. Pipe fittings also have excellent weldability and cold working properties, making them highly durable and long-lasting. This type of fitting provides superior mechanical strength and creep resistance, which makes it ideal for demanding applications such as food processing, medical equipment, nuclear power plants, chemical plants, and petrochemical industries.

FAQ's for Stainless Steel 316H Pipe Fittings

Stainless Steel 316H Pipe Fittings Price Start From Rs. 250/Kilogram To Rs. 350/Kilogram

Yes, stainless steel 316H pipe fittings are heat resistant. They can resist temperatures of up to 1600°F (870°C) without any significant degradation in their chemical or mechanical properties due to their high chromium and molybdenum content. This makes them ideal for many industrial applications where high temperatures are encountered.

Welding Stainless Steel 316H Pipe Fittings requires specialized knowledge and equipment. Preheating the pipe before welding should be done, followed by burnout, back purge, and tacking. A weld seam must have at least four layers (root pass + cover passes) deposited using a shielded metal arc welding technique with a 316L stainless steel electrode. Post-weld heat treatment is also necessary after all welds are completed to avoid further stress corrosion cracking.
