Stainless Steel 316H Tubing

316H Stainless Steel Tubing is made up of iron, chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. It contains 16-18% chromium, 2-3% molybdenum, 10-14% nickel, and 0.05%-0.15% carbon. It also has a higher carbon content to improve its high-temperature strength and creep resistance in comparison to other austenitic steels such as 304/304L and 316/316L. Additionally, it has a higher sulfur content which is beneficial for machinability but can be corrosive under acidic conditions due to the formation of sulfuric acid during exposure to humid air or water vapor containing dissolved oxygen or ozone gas at elevated temperatures.

SS 316h Tubing is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy steel that is heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and nonmagnetic. It offers excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion caused by chloride ion-containing solutions. It has superior weldability characteristics and can be used for welding applications at higher temperatures thanks to its high carbon content. This tubing also provides great temperature flexibility withstanding temperatures from -425°F up to 1500°F in dry air conditions. Its versatile nature makes it well-suited for a number of uses, such as food processing equipment and medical instruments.
