904L

904L stainless steel round pipes are a significant engineering development and a superior material for various production purposes. They are used in everything from the chemical-processing industry to transport, which requires sound heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and robustness. The versatility of 904l grade stainless steel round Pipe is attributed to their unique composition; it contains superior levels of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum along with low carbon content. This combination creates a product that can resist a variety of corrosive reactions, making it ideal for applications exposed to harsh chemicals. Steel 904L round pipes are also very strong and have an outstanding level of weldability; plus, they are highly elongated and quite durable, making them perfect for any construction or engineering project that involves the transportation of fluids.

904L round pipes are an essential component in many industries, from piping and plumbing to industrial applications. This stainless steel grade is made up of both molybdenum and low amounts of carbon, making it more resistant to corrosion than standard stainless steel, which contains a higher amount of carbon. As such, 904l grade stainless steel pipes can handle the demands of harsher environments and temperatures without losing their strength or structure. In addition to being corrosion-resistant, stainless steel 904l round pipes provide durability and flexibility and are easy to repair if needed down the road. Whether used for high-pressure liquid transportation or general construction applications, stainless steel 904l round pipes will not disappoint in terms of efficiency as well as strength and reliability.

FAQ's for Stainless Steel 904L Round Pipes

  • 1/8" (3.175 mm) to 12" (304.8 mm)
  • Sch 5 to Sch 160
  • As per ASTM A269, ASTM A312, ASTM A358
  • NPS (Nominal Pipe Size) and DN (Diameter Nominal) are used interchangeably and they refer to the same pipe size

The pressure rating of a stainless steel 904L round pipe depends on several factors, including the pipe's size, wall thickness, and the material's yield strength.

Pressure rating for 904L round pipe can be calculated using the following formula:

P = (2 * S * t) / (D o - t)

  • Yield Strength: 220 MPa (min) - 310 MPa (max)
  • Tensile Strength: 480 MPa (min) - 620 MPa (max)
  • Elongation: 35% (min)
  • Hardness: 220-280 Vickers (typical)
  • Impact Toughness: Not specified
  • Density: 7.95 g/cm3

Price is based on the various factors, in general, it starts from INR 450/Kg to INR 700/Kg

The density of 904L stainless steel pipes is approximately 8.0 g/cm3 (grams per cubic centimeter). This material is a low-carbon, high-nickel, molybdenum austenitic stainless steel alloy with good weldability and formability properties. It has higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to other grades of stainless steel due to its high levels of chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Its corrosion resistance makes it suitable for use in applications involving sulfuric acid at temperatures below 85 degrees Celsius. It is also used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical equipment such as storage tanks, pipes, pumps and valves.

The hardness of 904L stainless steel pipes is around 230 HB (Brinell), which is relatively soft compared to other grades of stainless steel. It has excellent formability and weldability properties, allowing for easy fabrication and installation. It also exhibits good strength and fatigue resistance at elevated service temperatures. This material can be hardened by cold-working processes such as cold rolling, spinning or pressing, and it is often used in applications involving pressure vessels and valves. Its corrosion resistance makes it a popular choice for chemical processing, oil refining, paper production and food processing industries.
