The electrode contains both austenitic and ferritic characteristics. The alloy has higher strength compared to pure austenitic filler metals. The material has excellent corrosion resistance in most corrosive environments. The alloy is resistant to stress cracking corrosion by chloride ions. The electrode can also withstand pitting corrosion from chloride-bearing environments. Preheating and post-welding are not necessary. The optimum interpass temperature is 1500 C. The electrode should be kept in a dry place to reduce the risk of porosity. Re-baking is necessary in temperatures around 3000 for two hours to restore the filler metal strength.
