The grade is a modification of 310 with low carbon to increase weldability. The rod is ideal for steel of similar formation. The filler metal is resistant to embrittlement and sensitization under high temperatures. The electrodes are prone to severe carburization thus not ideal for such environment. The alloys are only hardened through cold work which is rarely practiced. The electrodes have low magnetic permeability and excellent strength. The grade allow forging within a temperature range of 975-11750 C. The electrodes are suitable for welding similar class of steel. They have good oxidation resistance under temperatures below 1050 degrees Celsius.
