Stainless Steel ER309LMo Filler Wire is used for buffer layers, dissimilar joints and difficult to weld steels. When producing weld overlays the first layer, buffer layer, is deposited using SS ER309LMo Welding Wire if the final deposit chemistry required is 316L; subsequent layers being deposited using ER316L. SS ER309LMo Filler Wire is also used for dissimilar joints between austenitic stainless steels (eg. 304L, 316L) and CMn or low alloy steels. ER309LMo Filler Wire is also used for welding difficult to weld steels such as hardenable or heat-treatable steels.
ER309LMo SS Filler Wire classification has a low carbon content of 0.03% max. ER309LMO is usually needed for the first layer to achieve low carbon contents in other layers with ER316L or ER317L. SS ER 309MOL Wire exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures than ER309L. The addition of molybdenum to ER 309LMo also gives the weld deposit improved crack resistance. ER 309MOL Filler Wire is generally
