They are coated with a copper-nickel alloy that protects the alloy from sea water corrosion. The 316Ti is commonly referred to as a marine grade due to its properties. The flanges are very responsive to ordinary welding and fabrication. The class range is between 150# and 2500#.
The flanges have a high resistance to temperatures. However, the alloy cannot withstand acids with a concentration above 0.1. They also have a low tolerance for chlorine or sulfur solution.
