Stainless Steel 303 Forged Fittings are considered as a free-machining grade that has own machining properties along with sulfur. These fittings to be forged must be heated at 2300 degree Fahrenheit and can’t be forged below 925 degree Celsius. Their parts might be air cooled without risk of splitting and for greatest corrosion resistance. Not only this, their little parts might be water tempered and quenched directly off the mallet. Also, their too large parts must be annealed once the forging is made. This operation is carried out at 1850 degree Celsius which is followed by water tempering.
Welding and machinability-
This grade forged fittings should never relate to a temperature from 800 to 1650 degree Fahrenheit and nor gradually cooled by this temperature range, in order to shield intergranular corrosion. Stainless Steel 303 Forged Threaded Fittings machines simply and forms a fragile chip. They are also not good to be welded because the high amount of sulfur may c
