263

Nimonic 263 nuts are an alloy made up of Nickel-Chromium and designed to deliver strength and oxidation resistance. The nuts have a composition of nearly 72% nickel, 16–17% chromium, 6–7% iron, 1.5% titanium, 0.4% molybdenum, 0.2% aluminium, 0.06 carbon and trace amounts of other elements such as silicon, manganese and sulfur. 263 Nimonic nuts are commonly used in applications requiring high-temperature operation due to their resistance to crevices and stress corrosion cracking and their low coefficient of thermal expansion. These properties make Nimonic C263 Nuts ideal for aerospace applications such as airframes or for shipbuilding projects that need the combination of strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, like engines or exhaust systems.

Nimonic 263 nuts are fasteners designed primarily for areas requiring the highest corrosion resistance levels. The use of this alloy prevents pitting and fretting corrosion. Nimonic C263 nuts also offer shallow magnetic permeability properties and excellent strength, making them an ideal choice for applications in environments where these properties are essential. Due to their hard-wearing nature, they are frequently used in the marine industry and can withstand a wide variety of chemicals made from acids and high salt concentrations. Additionally, these nuts boast greatly extended fatigue life cycles thanks to their oxidation resistance capabilities and can remain effective in extreme temperatures ranging from -423°F to 932°F
