WPHY 42

Carbon Steel WPhy 42 Unequal Tee pipe fittings comprise austenitic-ferritic steel containing 3.2%-3.8% molybdenum, 14.5-16% chromium, 0.4-0.65% manganese, 1%-1.45% silicon and up to 0.03% phosphorous and sulfur with the balance being iron. These fittings contain lower amounts of chromium than ferritic stainless steels and offer certain advantages to engineers when joining pipes together, including strong weldability and higher impact strength when compared to other grades of steel pipe fittings, such as fittings made from carbon steels without molybdenum. This type of fitting is suitable for use in high-temperature environments due to its moderate resistance to heat and the fact that it does not require post-weld annealing treatments for stress relief or increased corrosion resistance.

42 Carbon Steel WPHY Unequal tee pipe fittings provide superior corrosion resistance requiring little to no maintenance regardless of the environment. Constructed with accurate 45-degree angles, these fittings are an excellent choice for high-pressure applications, making them great for oil and gas processing. Benefitting from higher strength and improved machinability compared to standard carbon steels, they also offer greater yield strength and toughness when exposed to temperatures below 0°F. With unmatched galvanisation resistance capabilities, this type of fitting is ideally suited for the highly corrosive environments often required in the petrochemical sector.
